2011 started out with three weeks of ministry in Cameroon in March. I taught on praise and worship in churches in Melong, Douala and Kumba.

The churches I ministered in had very lively worship based on their traditional ways of celebration an mostly soulish with no manifest Presence of God in the meetings.

There is such a fine line between religion and relationship and even though the people are very fervent in praying and fasting, few have experienced the love God has for them personally.

So when I asked each person to sing a little praise song unto the Lord, they were amazed and many were in tears as the Presence of God came upon them.

There were powerful manifestations of the Holy Spirit as the Presence of God manifested with deliverances and healings.

When Tonnie and I were back in Cameroon from October 4 to December 1. We taught in the bibleschool in Melong, where we had some very hungry students who were already involved in leading prayer cells in different communities and are preparing to be sent out as pastors.

So many things we take for granted here like water and electricity are not dependable there and many meetings started with lights on we had to continue with flash lights and candles. They are used to that however and we just carried on like normal.

We did several marriage conferences there and they brought great joy and liberation for the husbands and wives. Because of the tradition of dowry in the country each man has to buy his bride for the price set by the parents of the bride, as a consequence the bride is not so much a helpmeet coming alongside as an equal but more as a purchased possession to be managed and controlled as a servant wife.

So after marriage she will not share in the finances or any decision making for their lives.

When we shared how our marriage worked and how blessed we are with each other sharing in all things equally even after 48 years, they were amazed and the eyes of many husbands and wives were opened to what they were missing.

Because of the length of time we were there, we could see a new spark of joy and intimacy as the husbands allowed their wives to come alongside as equals in their walk together.

One thing really surprised me; the Lord wanted me to continue teaching and showing them how praise and worship is to work in the meetings. However after a few meetings it was plain that even though they had heard the teaching they had not made it part of their experience.

We spend considerable time laying the foundation again and showing them by example how to enter in and experience His Presence.

Below we share a letter just received from a lady pastor who is going to a university to become a teacher in the state schools;

daddy good .morning  how happy i am to write this mail to you at last .
i personnally had a very good time in melong in the church due to God's presence in the church   it was wonderfull.  i rememberthat  the lady   who prepared food for you in march told me that "oh the presence of God now in the church is irresistible " . i have notice  that, almost during all our worship services , she is weeping and worshiping with such a devotion .
the pastors and leaders are really singing love songs to God now (for the majority).
i was so blessed by the Lord when Beatrice , brother Ngon , mss Ngon  where leading us in worship:
momy Nadege  is now a good worshiper too
In the church,  time to time and more often  we esperience strange things during worship, the spirit of God  moves and some  start vibrate , shout cry...

we know that we still need to press in more and more untill heaven comes and dwell in our mist .

If i had a camara, i could send you some films on what the lord is doing  and how we are trying to practice what we 've learn from  you so that from there, you can  help us to change all our african's methods and exactly do as it is in heaven.

"eheh" daddy now we can sing new songs so easily ; that during our services ;  only few songs already nown comes out

we can even bring out music songs on tapes.

now, we doesn't have that prayer again at the begining of our service but we have worship for almost 45 Min. want to increase it to an hour.

daddy we need your observations and advices. the two pianist are growing with speed  , that is why we can all flow in worship

all wish to hear from you please write a letter that i will read in the church when i get there in a month to come.

great  for us mommy , the church and your kids?

We are blessed to have you as our father.

Some might say; why is it so important that the Presence of God is so manifest in every service?
Well I can only make an educated guess why the Lord so emphasizes this; Cameroon is a very corrupt nation it used to be number 1 in the world, now it is number 8, this is not because it improved much but that there is more corruption in the world.
The government is for the government, there is great poverty and dysfunction everywhere.
When God's Presence falls in the church, God is there to undertake on behalf of his own and the nation, the more they celebrate Him the more He does what only He can do. Also His people become more aware of God's love for them and are growing in faith and love for Him.

Thank you so much for your giving and praying for us and please pray for the nation of Cameroon, that Godly government may come forth.
